LEH – LADAKH
LEH-LADAKH a Union Territory, much of Ladakh is at the base of Himalayas into the Kunlun Ranges, Indus River basin. Included in the borders were the plateau of Ladakh remained oustanding by Tibet to the east, the vale of Jammu & Kashmir to the west, Lahaul and Spiti to the foot and the Karakoram Pass of the Himalayas to the head of it.
Ladakh is an enchanting landscape of peaks with Buddhist monasteries. Home to the monks, inspite of living in rural mud-brick homes, an average Ladakhi is self-reliant for their daily needs and living. This area is mainly divided into two districts, Kargil & Leh with Kargil having the Muslim majority, Leh, having Buddhists.
Leh it typically a tourist attraction center. Leh is perfectly a unmatched destination for tourist-friendly and breathtakingly, beautiful mountainous district. Inhabited by a spine of dagger-like ridges, Leh, located on the Silk Route at 11,490 foot, is a town with mud-brick houses, narrow meandering lanes and an old bazaar at its heart. Here you find hotels, souvenir shops, travel agencies and trekking companies that are eagerly waiting for nature lovers and trekking crazy groups. In summer months, you can walk around most places within this old town on foot, though the same cannot be worth in harsh winter. Leh also attracts trekking groups to explore the new heights. The small pocket Changspa to the northwest has a number of comfortable guesthouses. Venture deeper into the outskirts and you will be rejoiced with a lush landscape of barley fields crisscrossed by narrow streams and winding footpaths that typically lead you into mind pleasing natural abode.
