CHARDHAM YATRA

At the Crown of India, On the North Eastern Part, lies the most prominent destinations of

Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri known as Chardham, also referred as Chota Chardham.

 

Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri are locatedon the bank of four rivers Ganga, Yamuna, Alaknanda and Mandakini, making them Serene for Nature Lovers and Spiritual seekers.

Between April and November each year, it’s the faith of devotees that supports them to survive the harsh weather, the treacherous mountain roads and trails to get to Chardham. Adi Shankaracharya, great philosopher and reformer, during the 8th century clubbed together all these pilgrimage destinations of Chardham into a kind of spiritual circuit, one taken by generations after generations, keeping up the annual tradition of visiting these pilgrimages each year.
